The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in the USA has issued a wanted poster for Nicolae Popescu, a Romanian man they suspect of leading a “sophisticated internet fraud scheme where criminal conspirators, posted advertisements on internet auction sites for merchandise for sale”. The scam – predominantly carried out using eBay Motors – convinced would-be buyers to part with money for cars that didn’t exist. On Bing: see pictures of car fraud

The conspirators posed as eBay sellers and then sent fraudulent invoices, that appeared to be from legitimate online payment services, with instructions for payment to bank accounts held in the United States.
McLaren are out in force for the Goodwood Festival of Speed weekend with the 2013 MP4-12C, 2011 F1 cars and the GREAT GT3 12C. Today sees the start of the 2012 Goodwood Festival of Speed with the Moving Motor Show ahead of the weekend’s real petrolhead fun, and McLaren are out in force. The 2013 McLaren MP4-12C will be on show for the first time complete with its extra 25bhp, programmable engine note, remote passenger door opening and extra trim options.
Honda CR-Z Mugen RR - no power details forthcoming
We’ve reported quite a bit on Mugen UK’s efforts to sprinkle fairy dust on the Honda CR-Z Hybrid to turn it in to the sort of hybrid that would appeal to a keen driver. And now it’s the turn of Mugen in Japan who have also built a supposedly one-off CR-Z – the Honda CR-Z Mugen RR. The Euro Mugen CR-Z – which was on show at Goodwood last month – was eventually fettled to deliver 197bhp by bolting on a supercharger.
